Sci-fi Cafe pigout :)

I came across this foodie and/or geek wonderland while browsing through Metrodeal's website. The deal was for an order all you can treat which sounded amazing. So the deal was bought and finally we were able to trudge ourselves all the way to Robinson's Galleria.

PLACE

The cafe's bulletin board with tiny magazines and TV sets
where Sci fi has been featured. Cuteness! :)
The whole menu is sci-fi themed and 3 sides of the cafe is glass displays of several action figures and toys ranging in different sizes. Some of which are displayed towards the outside of the cafe so people passing by can see some of the pieces of this amazing collection.

Johnny Depp section (of course there is one)

FOOD

The boyfriend and I scoured the menu like the semi professional eaters that we are. We agreed on appetizers and a pasta dish first. Appetizer choices included Sci Fish and Chips (yes, just fish and chips), The Two Towers which is deep fried squid and onion rings stacked on top of each other thus the two towers. Then there's also Van Hellswing, the cafe's take on fried chicken wings and Nacho Libre is yup, you guessed it! N A C H O S. But what really caught our eyes was the monster that is the Starter Sampler Set which comprised of all four appetizers.

4 chicken wings, 8 pieces combined onion and squid rings
4 pieces cream dory fillet and 2 handfuls of fries and nachos.

Yes, there were only two of us. No, we are not sorry.
The pasta dish we chose was Sebastian, which captured our attention at Aligue and Crispy crab sticks. I love how generous they are with the crab fat and how the crispy crab sticks perfectly complement the aligue flavor. I'll definitely recommend this Little Mermaid-inspired dish.

After the two dishes above, we wanted to try some more of what the cafe had to offer. I tell you, choosing is extremely hard since everything on the menu seems good. So we each chose an entree then tikim tikim na lang.

I forgot the name but it's cheesy chicken something for the bf
The Mintrix Lamb Burger for me with hash browns on the side
After two rounds of meals, all we could say was "busooog." in between all the burping.

MORE

Coffee table books, which guests can read while waiting for their food anytime they want to as long as their order amounts to a minimum of P500. I must admit though, that during the time we were there, I only saw one mom take out one of the books. Almost everyone was taking pictures of the place and themselves wearing costumes and props, yours truly included.

The costumes and props is another THE reason to visit Sci fi. The most notable ones includes Darth Vader and storm trooper helmets. They also have actual light sabers! Well, not really actual ones but ones that look and sound like the real deal. They also have an Iron Man helmet, Thor's hammer, and Captain America's shield thingy.

Pieces from the Harry Potter series included robes, wands, Harry's glasses, and the Nimbus 2000!

Besides the ones I mentioned, there are a lot more costumes to choose from. Surely, every geek will certainly find something they would enjoy being, even for just a photo op.

FYI, I am not a fan of science fiction as a collective genre (did you see that one coming?), and yet I enjoyed the whole Scifi Cafe experience. I love the fact that aside from the real science fiction stuff, they also have Disney-Pixar characters. Like the princesses, Lotso Bear from Toy Story 3 and Sully from Monsters, Inc.

This is me btw :)
See also Edward, Bella and Jacob action figures dolls; the rest of the members of The Avengers; other superheroes like Superman and Batman; stuff from Lord Of The Rings. AND SO MUCH MORE! Apologies for overcompensating for my lack of photos wearing costumes and such. Moving on.

I enjoyed reading the menu and had a good laugh over the corny-funny names they thought of for each dish. Reasonably priced since they had big servings. I would suggest a budget of P400 for every hungry geek. Visit Sci-fi Cafe! Maybe we'd run into each other since we have yet to taste any of their pizzas.

Laters :)
